single varietal cider: ashmead’s kernel

Dry cider

Ashmead’s Kernel is a rare treat. A variety whose origin can be traced back to 18th century Gloucester, this cultivar is considered a dessert variety due to its lovely flavor for snacking. This late harvesting variety is completely russetted, exhibiting a brown matte finish more common in potatoes than apples. But it grows exceedingly well in Adams County and provides a distinctive “honeyed” note in our cider making. We hope you find this cider to be a rare treat, similarly to how we treasure these fruits around our farm.
